Surrey Mirror published Thorpe Park closes Vortex after teen dies on similar ride in US
Thorpe Park has closed its Vortex ride as a precaution after a teenager died on a similar ride in the US.The Surrey theme park said on social media it had “closed the ride as a precaution” while preliminary investigations are carried out in Ohio, where the accident happened.There are five rides in the UK which are of the same type of design as one called the Afterburner in the US, which was involved in the accident that killed 18-year-old Tyler Jarrell.
