Sex crimes committed against children are on the rise in Surrey, according to new statistics.Figures obtained from Surrey Police under the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) by the charity NSPCC show that 53 sex crimes were committed against children in the county in 2016/17, up from 31 in 2015/16.The charity said the figures “confirmed” fears that offenders are exploiting the internet to target children and has called on the next government to make online safety a top priority.READ…
