People with dementia are being encouraged to take part in a ground-breaking £5 million study, which a Surrey health trust hopes could transform the care provided. The study, the first of its kind, will use smart technology to monitor people with dementia in their own homes 24 hours a day. Devices, including sensors attached to objects such as fridges, kettles and beds, will detect anomalies in their daily routine which may indicate they are unwell or unsafe.
